Daddy Daughter Dance

Activity Days had a daddy daughter dance a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, daddy was out of town, so we got someone to 'fill in.' He looks a lot like daddy, don't you think? (He even snuck a basketball in his shirt for the dad's to play a little b-ball after the dance!)

Ava's new....umm.....ice cream scoops?

Ava came in the other day with boobs--imagine my surprise! She has a little ice cream parlor set, and used ice cream scoops to add to her own cones. At least they weren't double scoops!!

I've been trying the old ice cream route for years, but have apparently been going about it all wrong--silly me, I've been eating it!

Baby Shower

My good friends Penny and Ammanda threw an awesome baby shower for Tommy on Saturday! Let's just say this kid can feel free to come at any time, because he is ready! He got tons of cool stuff. I knew I had some talented friends, but I didn't realize how many and how talented. The stuff they can make is soo impressive! Right down to all the handmade cards!
Speaking of cool things they can make--check out this cake that Penny made!

Penny and Ammanda made omelettes that were totally cool and yummy. They put all the ingredients in a zip lock bag and then put the bags in a pot of boiling water--genius! Easy and yummy--I love it!

Later that day we finally finished getting things put together for Tommy. The crib is up and the room is pretty much ready. Ava was quite excited to 'test' the crib out.

Soooo many people have helped me out during this pregnancy. My sisters and Nicole Pribyl saw to it that I looked decent with all the cute clothes they sent my way! My sister in law Jen and sisters Mandy and Megan and Amanda Mason pretty much outfitted my baby with all the boy clothes they sent. Penny personally made sure Tommy would be able to wear those clothes!(She came over and sorted everything for a couple hours straight!) I can't even list the number of people who have watched Ava for me for doctor visits (usually last minute because I haven't been very good at planning ahead for them!). Of course, my wonderful husband, who has been very supportive! And so many more people I know I'm forgetting--but, thanks to everyone!! I really appreciate everythhing!

Craigslist find

I'm sure plenty of you have heard me whining about needing to get some dressers for Tommy's room lately. Lucky you, you don't have to listen to me anymore! I found this beauty on Craigslist the other day. $35!!! Woo-hoo! This is only the second time I've used craigslist, but I'm happy with it. I'll paint it and put some cute knobs on after he's here--no energy now. But I think it will turn out nicely once it's done!

Spring Jr.

We've successfully hatched another moth! Welcome Spring Jr!

Nine?!

Isabelle is now nine years old! When did that happen?

Isabelle has started reading the Harry Potter books and she really wanted a Harry Potter cake for her birthday. I fretted over this because when I thought "Harry Potter cake" I had visions of broomsticks, wands, and lightning bolts, and had no idea how to pull it off. She finally explained to me that she wanted a literal "Harry Potter" cake. "You know, his head." Fine with me! I told her I wasn't a great artist, but that I would try. She responded that maybe it would turn out better if SHE made the cake. Even better! Why didn't I think of that! Without further ado--the Harry Potter cake!

Note the lightning bolt scar on his forehead. There are glasses as well, but the light colored frosting she used for them didn't show up very well.

One of her presents was a bike. Unfortunately, we ran into a few glitches putting the thing together. Let's just say we're not the handiest of families! Long story short, she unwrapped the bike box. After a few days (or weeks), we finally figured things out, and she finally has a bike! Too bad we didn't have a magic wand of our own! Maybe a firebolt would have been better than the bike!

Harry Potter loot! All she wanted was Harry Potter!
