Talking Baby

Today we went to the park.  There were a bunch of little boys--Tommy was in heaven!  One little boy came over and started talking to Tommy.  They went down the slide, tossed the football, and played in the dirt together, at which point the little boy says to Tommy, "You're wearing a diaper.  Why's you not wearing underwear?  You must be a baby....You're a talking baby!"  (Not mocking, just surprised.)  Tommy just kept on playing, so the little boy just started playing again too.  Tom and I were giggling--we had talked to the little boys dad, he is 4 1/2!  My sweet 2 year old is a 'talking  baby!'  Unfortunately, his size and vocabulary will keep others expecting more of him because they think he is older!  Oh well, more of him to love!  Gotta go...my talking baby told me his diaper needs changed!  :) 
(We did start potty training this week--cross your fingers!)

Shiny!

My grandma was diagnosed not too long ago with dimensia, but we were told that many people with this condition can live for quite some time.  So, I was a little surprised when I got a call this evening saying that my grandmother is close to passing.  I gathered the children and explained what was going on and that grandma would probably be dying soon.  This led to a discussion on relationships and family and, of course, death.  I then got to call my grandma and talk to her and tell her I love her.
Later that night when I tucked the kids into bed, I overheard them talking...
Isabelle--"You know that when you die, you get your body back without any scars or anything like that?"
Ava--"I know, I know, we'll be just like how are bodies are here..."
Isabelle--"Our bodies will be even BETTER!"
Ava--"I hope not!  I don't want to be TOO SHINY!  I just want to be me."
Cause, ya know, she's already pretty darn shiny!
I am thankful for a grandma who is who she was, and that my kids are who they are!  And that grandma gets to keep shining!

Girls Trip!

We went to The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. It was amazing!!! I got a bunch of pics of the grounds on my cell phone--other than that I didn't get many other pics because we were busy doing nothing at the spa, getting massages, pedicures, and facials! Fun trip with the Hunnie-saker's!!

AZ State Fair

Over fall break we went to the state fair!

Students of the month!

Both girls got the character award for the month of October! They put their names on leaves and hang them on the character tree at the front of the school. Isabelle also made the principle's list honor roll for the first quarter!
